RESIDENTS in the Borders could experience disruption this week as warnings for ice have been issued.

A yellow warning will be in place from the middle of this week.

The Met Office announced that from 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday, December 7) until 12pm on Thursday (December 8) parts of the Borders in the east could experience icy conditions.

Affected areas include Eyemouth, Coldingham and St Abbs, and the weather could impact commuters using the A1.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Frequent wintry showers running down the east coast are likely to fall on frozen surfaces in places, leading to the formation of icy patches.

"These showers are likely to fall as snow on high ground."

This warning has a medium likelihood and low impact according to the Met Office's warning impact matrix.
