GRITTER crews are out and about in the Scottish Borders to help keep the region moving, including one vehicle named after Doddie.
BEAR Scotland have had 14 gritters out keeping the Borders trunk roads safe from 2pm yesterday and all through the nights as well as two smaller vehicles gritting footways.
And that number continues today.
The gritters include one named My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and others named Grit a Bit, Salty, Snow Dozer, I Want to Break Freeze, Basil Salty, Sir Salter Scott.
Scottish Borders Council have also deployed gritter crews and at this time the roads appear to be running normally.
Frequent wintry showers are expected in places along the east coast overnight, leading to some tricky conditions on untreated roads and pavements.
The Met Office is warning some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible, as temperatures plummet.
A Yellow weather warning comes into force from 6pm tonight (Wednesday December 7) and lasts until midday tomorrow.
