A BORDERS community organisation has won an award for best creative regeneration.
The annual SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration celebrate the achievements that address social and economic challenges in the community.
Hawick's Alchemy Film and Arts won in the creative regeneration category for its work to provide year-round access to "cultural and creative learning opportunities".
Michael Pattison, Alchemy director, said: "Winning the Creative Regeneration award from SURF is a massive achievement for the team, who work so consistently to uphold our values of warmth, openness, solidarity, hospitality and humour."
SURF is a regeneration forum with more than 300 member organisations in Scotland.
The awards are of particular importance following the coronavirus pandemic and the current cost-of-living crisis.
Twenty independent judges from around the country assessed all the nominees in the five categories.
Rachael Disbury, Alchemy director, added: "Hawick is a place of multiple communities and it's an honour and joy to count ourselves among them.
"The award is testament to the town and wider region's creative energy, and to the positive outcomes and working methods of collaboration and experimentation made possible by our funders and supporters."
