A LARGE fire in Edinburgh city centre has been causing major disruption for passengers on Borders Buses travelling to and from the capital today (Monday January 23 2023).

Dozens of firefighters are currently tackling a blaze at the Jenners building in Rose Street.

Emergency services were called to fire at the former department store at 11.29am.

The building was found “well alight” and a total of 10 fire appliances have been sent to the scene on Rose Street in the city centre.

No casualties have been reported and some streets in the area have been closed.

The Edinburgh Bus station was forced to close and services x95,x62 and 51 had to terminate at Nicolson square on inbound journeys and begin outbound services from Surgeons Hall.

The station has now reopened but major traffic congestion meant that these services had to be removed from the station.
