ITV broadcaster Gabriel Clarke paid tribute to the remarkable life of Doddie Weir in an emotional four-minute video which was aired before yesterday’s Calcutta Cup match at Twickenham.
The piece included interviews with Doddie before and after his diagnosis with MND.

Former friend and team mate Scott Hastings described Doddie’s ‘anger and frustration’ and how he rattled the heads of scientists in his effort to find a cure for MND.

England star Rob Andrew talked about good a rugby player Doddie was and recalled the reaction of the Twickenham crowd when his passing was announced.

Other footage included the many Doddie Aid charity events such as Doddie’s Regatta which continue to raise much needed funds for his Foundation.
A spokesperson for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation thanked ITV for the ‘wonderful tribute to our founder’.
