A BORDERS youth group is looking to celebrate its annual fundraiser with a special auction.

Peeblesshire Youth Trust will host its annual Achieve-a-Ball fundraiser at the end of this month at Peebles Hydro where a longstanding supporter of the charity has donated a one of a kind picture to raise vital funds for the organisation.

Ex-Peebles High School pupil Stewart Campbell has previously donated his Red Arrows flying suit to be auctioned, and this year he has another amazing donation for the charity.

Wing Commander Campbell has recently completed a tour with the 617 Dambuster Squadron which saw him involved in the development of the F-35 fighter jet on the Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier.

To commemorate this tour Campbell commissioned aviation artist Ronald Wong to make a painting of the F-35 on the Queen Elizabeth. For Achieve-a-Ball Campbell has donated a framed limited edition print of the painting.

The print is signed by Campbell and Wong and can currently be viewed at Tweed Art in Peebles.

A Peebleeshire Youth Trust spokesperson said: "The Youth Trust are very grateful for all the items received, and the monies raised on the night will go a long way to enable work with many more young people across Tweeddale in the coming year.

"The charity is fortunate this year to have received a very rare item which will be available for advanced bids for auction, thanks to ex-Peebles High School pupil, Stewart Campbell.

"The print is currently on display and available to view at Tweed Art, Peebles.

"Peeblesshire Youth Trust are now delighted to receive bids for this collectors’ piece.

"Don’t hesitate to get in touch!"

Guests attending the fundraiser will be greeted with a glass of fizz, and will be treated to a three-course meal and an evening of musical entertainment and raffle.

Achieve-a-Ball will be held at Peebles Hydro on Saturday, March 25.
