GALA Fairydean Rovers have the chance to make history on Sunday by lifting the first silverware in the club’s 10-year existence.

But first they have to overcome high flying Linlithgow Rose at the neutral Ferguson Park in Rosewell.

The club will be running a bus to take supporters to the final and fans are asked to book their seat via the club’s facebook page.

The bus leaves at 12.30pm for the 2pm kick off and only a few places remain. (£12 return)

One man who has already booked his place on the bus is Scottish Borders Council leader Euan Jardine who is an avid fan.

He said: Standing on the sidelines, watching Linlithgow Rose lift the EOS Qualifying cup last year was a bitter pill to swallow. This year, a different cup, a different final, but the same opposition provides a chance for Gala Fairydean Rovers to redeem and give Linlithgow Rose a taste of what we felt last season.

“I am 100% behind the team and look forward to a day of hope, excitement, goals, and Gala Fairydean Rovers bringing home the silverware.

“I wish all the best to everyone involved with the club for the final.

Manager Martin Scott said: “We are all looking forward to the final. We should have a few bodies back so will go into the game with a strong squad.

“There was a big crowd the last time we played Linlithgow Rose in the Qualifying Cup at Penicuik in the summer and hopefully the Gala fans will turn out again to support us.”

Rose currently top the East of Scotland Premier Division and look certain to win promotion to the Lowland League.
