A TEENAGER who admitted being in possession of a knife has been ordered to carry out 90 hours of unpaid work at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Nineteen-year-old Jack Barrett, of Innerleithen, pleaded guilty to being in possession of the offensive weapon on June 6, 2021.
The court heard how Barrett had come off a motorcycle but pleaded with a witness not to contact the police.
Eventually an ambulance and police were called and a search of Barrett's rucksack recovered a knife.
Barrett was told the community payback order was an alternative to custody.
