A 62-YEAR-OLD man who obtained thousands of pounds worth of goods by fraud after setting up an Amazon account linked to a bank card belonging to someone else has been ordered to pay the woman £4,000 in compensation.
Selkirk Sheriff Court heard Damian McNally – who gave an address in Edinburgh – committed the offence at Crookston Court in Peebles between December 2018 and November 2020.
McNally was found guilty of forming a fraudulent scheme to embezzle the money at a trial last month.
He has been ordered to pay the compensation at a rate of £250 per month.
