MELROSE Primary School will represent the Borders in the annual Euroquiz after beating off strong competition.

The contest is open to all P6 pupils across Scotland and creates an enthusiasm for learning, developing the ability to work in teams and communicate effectively, and ultimately increasing their confidence and range of core skills.

The competition sees teams of four plus two reserves working together to broaden their knowledge of Europe and the wider world.

The Borders heats took place virtually on Wednesday, March 15.

And the Melrose youngsters beat off strong competition from 13 other primary schools in the region to reach the grand final which will take place in the debating chamber of the Scottish Parliament in June.
