HUMZA Yousaf's full ministerial team has been confirmed.

As well as a minister for independence, the top team has a minister for housing, a minister for energy, and a minister for small business.

The two Scottish Green co-leaders, Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater, have also retained their roles in the Government.

Kate Forbes and Ivan McKee have both left government, as well as SNP MSPs Clare Haughey and Ben Macpherson.

Macpherson was offered the transport brief, reports say, but turned it down. Kevin Stewart, who had been the minister for social care, will instead take on that role.

New entries to government include Gillian Martin, Emma Roddick – who is just 25 – and Natalie Don.

In total, there are 18 junior ministers supporting the 10 Cabinet members, including Yousaf himself.

Yousaf's Scottish Cabinet is understood to be the first which is majority female, with six women against four men. This minor imbalance is also reflected government-wide, with 15 women against 13 men.
