A DAY of rallying action is set to be had at this year's BVAC (Borders Vintage Automobile Club) Classic at Thirlestane Castle.

Competitors will join the Scottish Borders Hill Rally to tackle stages around the region with a spectator stage within the classic.

There will be a rally service park in the BVAC Classic showground where competing teams can service, and even repair, vehicles between stages.

Visitors to the Classic will have the chance to get up close to some of the amazing vehicles taking part.

Fraser Wenseth from the Scottish Hill Rally Club said: “We’re delighted to bring the top UK and international cross country crews and cars to the Borders for a Hill Rally and being able to showcase the action to crowds at this year’s BVAC Classic."

Visitors to Thirlestane Castle for the Classic will also be able to view the rally cars setting off from the stage within the showground.

A spokesperson from BVAC said: "Beyond the Hill Rally action, the show will feature a huge array of attractions to keep the whole family entertained.

"There will extensive displays of stunning veteran, vintage and classic cars, a retail area, children’s play zone and activities, arena stunt display’s, pipe band shows and plenty of wonderful food and drink vendors to keep visitors fuelled throughout the day!"

Advance tickets can be bought online at the discounted price of £10 and are available to purchase before May 31.
