YOUNGSTERS from TD1 Youth Hub celebrated their 10th-year anniversary by organising a free family Easter fun day at the Volunteer Hall last week.

More than 600 people attended the event on Tuesday, April 4, and everyone was amazed by the turnout and support from the community.

A good time was had by one and all with lots of Easter activities, face painting, tattoos, a bake sale, a pre-loved stall, inflatable fun, teas and coffees, plus lots more.

Douglas Ormston, TD1's manager, said: " We would like to pay tribute to our young people who were involved in planning, running and tidying up after the event.

“They are a great example of what makes Gala an amazing town. Giving up their free time over the Easter holidays, some of them there since 9am to 4pm – that is a great shift."

Youth development worker with the hub Rachael Scott said: “Thank you to all. We are very proud of our youngsters, and got some amazing feedback from the community."

The fun day was praised as having a "great variety of activities", as well as being an "absolutely fantastic event for children and families".
