THOUSANDS of pounds’ worth of damage has been caused to a vehicle transporting a wind turbine parked in the Borders, according to police.
The ‘high-value vandalism’ is believed to have taken place between 4.20pm on Sunday, November 12, and 9.30am the following Tuesday.
The vehicle was parked in a layby off the A7, just south of Selkirk.
A number of tyres were vandalised, say police, and it is thought that around £20,000 worth of damage was caused.
Officers are appealing to the public for information.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Anyone who saw any suspicious activity, possibly involving a white van seen in the area, is asked to call Police Scotland.
“You can contact 101, quoting reference 0576 of November 14, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
