Residents in the Borders are being urged to prepare for the upcoming public holiday.
On Monday, October 14, many local services, including health centres and dental practices, will be closed.
In anticipation of the closure, people are being advised to check their repeat prescriptions and place orders in advance, ensuring they have enough medication.
While most health centres and GP practices will be shut, Coldstream, Earlston, Galashiels, Hawick, Kelso, Lauder, Newcastleton, Stow, and West Linton medical practices will remain open.
The public dental service sites at Coldstream Dental Centre, Galashiels Health Centre, and Kelso Health Centre will be closed.
However, dental emergency cover will be provided by Hawick Dental Centre.
In the case of a dental emergency, residents are advised to contact the Dental Enquiry Line on 0300 7900 710, between 8am and 6pm.
Some community pharmacies will be open on the public holiday.
Residents are encouraged to use NHS services wisely to help keep the NHS safe.
For health advice or treatment for non-life-threatening conditions, people should call NHS 24 on 111.
This service may involve some waiting time, but calls can be made from home.
If a face-to-face consultation is necessary, an appointment will be given to avoid unnecessary trips to the hospital.
This measure also ensures that emergency department specialists are available for people who need emergency medical care for life-threatening conditions.
In the event of an emergency, residents should call 999 or go to the emergency department for immediate medical care.
Residents are advised to check the opening hours of any services they plan to use on Monday, October 14.
