The managing director of a Galashiels-based firm skydived 15,000ft to raise funds for a mental health charity.
Alasdair Rankin, of Aitken Turnbull Architects, completed the tandem skydive to support this year’s chosen charity partner, Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH).
He jumped from a twin-engine aircraft high above Peterlee Airfield in Country Durham, raising more than his initial £1,500 target, with contributions continuing to roll-in towards £2,000.
Mr Rankin said: “I relished the opportunity to do this sky dive.
"It took me way out of my comfort zone, but when we reflect on the fantastic work done by SAMH and how they transform thousands of lives, I was more than delighted to take part.
"My thanks not only to my Aitken Turnbull colleagues for their very inspired suggestion and to the team at Sky-High Sky Diving for their invaluable help on the day, but also to everyone who sponsored me."
Aitken Turnbull's charity efforts have raised nearly £7,000 for SAMH this year.
The firm has also participated in the Edinburgh Marathon Relay and raised funds at their corporate day at Kelso Races.
