A COMMUNITY wealth-building conference is to be staged at Borders College in Galashiels later this year, it has been announced.

This event will bring together Borders Community Action (BCA) members, partners and others interested in the future of the Borders to explore what community wealth building means in practice, and how it can support stronger, fairer and more resilient local economies.

BCA is the designated Third Sector Interface (TSI) for the Borders, which was launched on April 1, 2023.

The conference is be staged on Saturday, October 28 at Borders College’s Unit 1 in Nether Road between 9.30am and 3pm.

A BCA spokesperson said: “For communities, this means greater opportunity to influence local priorities, strengthen local assets, and build on the skills, ideas and energy that already exist in place.

“For the third sector, it offers a powerful opportunity to deepen collaboration, grow local capacity, and ensure community organisations are recognised as essential partners in building inclusive and sustainable change.

“The conference will offer inspiring input, practical workshops and space to connect with others across the third sector, public sector and community networks.

“It will be a chance to share learning, spark new ideas and consider how we can work together to help communities across the Borders thrive.”
