A NEW board member with more than 40 years of housing experience has been appointed to Eildon Housing Association.
Gerry Begg, a retired housing professional, was co-opted onto the governing body following Eildon's 53rd Annual General Meeting, held on Wednesday, September 9.
Brian Frater, chairman of the Eildon Group, said: "We are fortunate to attract someone with Gerry’s skill and experience to our Group.
"I look forward to working with him as we continue to deliver our ambitious strategy.
"The Eildon Board is a strong and unified group of volunteers with an impressive range of knowledge and expertise to oversee or work at this important time."
Mr Begg’s career began in 1982 and has spanned both housing associations and local government.
He has also previously served on the board of a Dundee-based housing association.
The AGM also marked the departure of board member Catherine Louch, who stood down after more than four years of voluntary service.
Mr Frater used the meeting to highlight ongoing challenges facing the housing and social care sectors, and reaffirmed Eildon's commitment to addressing these issues in the Borders.
