AMERICAN husband and wife ukulele superstars Craig Chee and Sarah Maisel are travelling across the pond to play their only show in Scotland in Innerleithen.

They are headlining ‘St Andrew’s Sessions’, the monthly acoustic show that takes place in St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Innerleithen, on Saturday November 4.

St Andrew’s was approached directly by the tour promoters, who knew of the Sessions due to other ukulele performers playing there, to ask if Craig and Sarah could perform there. The show will be part of their 2017 UK tour - and their only date in Scotland.

Reverend Jim Benton Evans told the Peeblesshire News: "The intimate nature of the church, coupled with its superb acoustics, make it an ideal venue for acoustic concerts.

"The Sessions have been running for two years now and are a key aspect of the church’s connection to the community. They are a strictly not-for-profit enterprise: the church offers the venue, heating, lighting etc for free: this means that every penny taken in ticket sales goes to the performers.

"As a way of making sure that young ukulele enthusiasts are able to come to the show, minister Rev Jim has organised a discount deal for members of Priorsford Ukulele Club and the Funky Frets group: any member of either of those groups coming with a paying adult can see the show for just £2.50 - a price that extends to their (under 16) brother and sisters too.

"But don’t delay, tickets are selling fast."

Tickets, priced at £12.50 for adults and £8.50 for under 16s, can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3071347, or direct from Reverend Jim by calling 07702 842727 or email jimbentonevans@gmail.com.
