INNERLEITHEN Community Council has congratulated two Tweeddale residents who were announced in the New Year’s Honours list.
At Monday night’s meeting, members recognised the hard work of Teresa Tennant, the co-founder of Jupiter Ecology Fund, and former Convener of Scottish Borders Council, and Peebles resident, Graham Garvie.
The pair will receive an OBE for their services to sustainable investment and local government respectively a special ceremony in London later this year.
Chairman Marshall Douglas said: “It is wonderful to see them both recognised for their hard work and to see the area put on the map.”
