A PEEBLESSHIRE garden is opening its gates to raise money for charity next weekend.
Kailzie Gardens, located around two miles east of Peebles, is inviting visitors to explore the grounds and see the snowdrops on Sunday, February 25.
Lesley McDavid from the gardens said: “At this year’s charity day, 60 per cent of the money raised will go to Eskine Care Homes with the net remainder to Scotland’s Garden Scheme’s beneficiaries, The Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland, Maggie’s, Perennial and the National Trust for Scotland Gardens.
“Erskine have been caring for ex-service men and women since 1916 and are now Scotland’s foremost provider of nursing, residential, respite and dementia care to UK veterans as well as our younger members of the armed forces.
“Snowdrop bulbs will be available for sale at the charity day. Unlike many other bulbs snowdrops are most successful when planted ‘in the green’ just after flowering.”
The gardens will be open from 10am to 4pm. Admission is £4, and is free for children.
