The Shieldhill Castle Hotel in Biggar is up against six other wedding venues in the south west, while the hotel's Fiona Alexander has picked up a nomination for Wedding Coordinator of the Year.

While in Eddleston, bakery business Rainbow Sugarcraft are hoping their colourful creations will see them crowned as the south east's Cake Designer of the Year.

Now in their sixth year, the Scottish Wedding Awards recognise and reward excellence in all aspects of business practice, including the talent and specialisation of those in the industry that make the big day the best it can be.

Irfan Younis, CEO of organisers Creative Oceanic said: “We are very proud to see that so many people would like to get involved in the sixth Official Scottish Wedding Awards. Our job is to promote this great industry which continuous to thrive over the years.

“We have had a fantastic response from the public and now, in the sixth year, we are looking forward to welcoming and acknowledging the most successful professionals and businesses in the wedding industry. We would like to wish all the finalists the best of luck.”
