The success of Games Week relies upon the participation of townsfolk and visitors and it was great to see such large numbers attending and getting involved in each of the events.

Once again, we had a fantastic set of principals to lead the celebrations and I offer my congratulations, once more, to them all.

Our thanks must go to David Forrest and Shannon Knox who were an excellent Standard Bearer and Lass, carrying out each of their duties with honour and dignity. Ally Norman and Ruby Finn and all of the young principals did a superb job of representing their families, school and classmates. It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Robert and Ethne Cumming back to Innerleithen as our Principal Guests and I know that Dr Cumming’s speech in the Memorial Hall will long be remembered. Thanks must go to each of our partner organisations, patrons and sponsors who provide practical and financial support, making our job as organisers that bit easier. We are also grateful to all of the volunteers who assist the committee in countless ways as well as those who donate through our various collections.

In closing I would like to thank everyone who has assisted me in my duties as Chairman and I must pay tribute to the hard-working officials and members of the Games Committee for the huge amount of work that goes on, not just at Games Week, but throughout the year. Work has already started in preparing for the 2016 festivities!

On, St Ronan’s, On! I am, etc.
