INNERLEITHEN soccer coach Ryan Bissett is having a ball in America.

And his success on the training ground is already earning him attention from a few senior clubs back in Scotland.

The 23-year-old, as previously reported in the Peeblesshire News, landed a dream job with Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire.

And since flying stateside to take up his youth coaching position he has been offered similar jobs on this side of the Atlantic.

Ryan told us: "I have been out here just over a month so far and I'm building a little bit of a reputation for myself as a coach.

"I've had offers from three clubs in Scottish Premiership to be a youth coach within their set ups."

Since arriving in the United States, Ryan has been on the coaching field six days a week.

And he's been given the role of directing training programmes in both Illinois and Wisconsin for over 100 young players.

Since the World Cup kicked off in Russia earlier this month, Ryan's workload has increased further.

He explained: "My role with Chicago includes assigning coaches to age groups and evaluating them, leading coaching sessions, and running camp clinics.

"I have also been giving the opportunity to analyse the World Cup games along with professional coaches from all around the globe and my input goes out to popular sports blogs online.

"I’m now weighing up my options and as much as I love the lifestyle and football out in America I have to look at bigger things, if I decide to return to the UK it will be to coach both at an academy and a coaching agency.

"I also would love to manage at a senior level if I return home to test my ability and gain experience even if it’s amateur or semi professional team."
