PEEBLES was the venue last weekend for the annual Tweeddale Junior Tennis Championships.

Players from across the region, representing the Broughton, West Linton, Peebles and Innerleithen clubs, took to the courts for an exciting two days of finals.

Glorious autumnal sunshine and only the slightest of breezes allowed for some magnificent tennis over both days.

And the consensus from parents and other spectators is that the standard of play at the annual championships just gets better every year.

Organiser Graeme Kirkpatrick thanked all the participants for their contribution to a very successful weekend.

During his remarks he highlighted how Tweeddale junior tennis players were showing continued improvement and he appreciated that many players who had achieved significant county and national honours during the season still continuedt o support their local events.

Special praise went to 11-year-old Louis Kirkpatrick, 13-year-old Adam Clunie and 10-year-old Ruby Mackenzie who all achieved significant success over the weekend at their own age-level and in the older events.
