GALA Fairydean Rovers were celebrating both on and off the field on Saturday.

In addition to an impressive Scottish Cup second round victory against East Stirlingshire, long-term sponsors Five Star Taxis confirmed an extension of their current deal until the end of season 2019-20.

GFR chairman Kevin Temple said:"This is excellent news.

"Five Star Taxis have been tremendous supporters of the club and their backing is invaluable in helping us drive the club forward.

"Competing in the Lowland League is an expensive business so having the support of Five Star Taxis is massive for us.

"The Scottish Cup is so important to the club in terms of prestige and finance and now we are just one tie away

from the lucrative fourth round draw when absolutely anything can happen and that's where we want to be.

"Of course, it doesn't come much harder than a tie away to East Kilbride in the third round but the team has shown already this season they are up for the big occasion so it's going to be a very exciting few weeks for the club.

"But in order to speculate to accumulate we need our finances to be in order and this is where Five Star Taxis come in allowing us to develop."
