LINTON Hotspur FC are rewarding one of their longest-serving players.

Campbell Forsyth was instrumental in helping the club rise from the ashes just over a decade ago.

The former Vale of Leithen and Peebles Rovers defender has been a constant presence in the amateur team ever since.

On Sunday, May 26 Linton Hotspur will face a Legends Select at New Moor Road in Campbell's testimonial game - with all funds raised going to charity.

Campbell told us: “I am really looking forward to celebrating my ten seasons at this great club with staff and players from past and present and of course, the supporters who have become so important to me and my family.”

In organising the testimonial match for Campbell, Linton Hotspur's vice chairman Ivan Mackenzie paid tribute to the player and committee member.

Ivan said: "Campbell is a man who has given his heart and soul to Linton Hotspur and has been such a pivotal figure for the club for more than a decade.

"He is highly-deserving of this honour and we wish Campbell all the very best for this match, which we are all sure will be a fantastic occasion.’

Further details will be released for the Testimonial Match across the Club’s social media channels.
