HAWICK Waverley goalkeeper Ali Willison moved from between the sticks to up front to score in a 9-0 thrashing of Stow.

The keeper played outfield after substitute Tony Craggs was injured and switched with Willison, who then scored the final goal in the Division A clash.

Dean McColm notched four, Jordan Yardley three and Taylor Hope the other goal as league winners-elect Waverley made it 68 goals from 13 league games – an average of more than five goals per game.

Last year’s Beveridge Cup finalists Jed Legion were knocked out at the quarter final stage this season in a seven-goal thriller at Hawick United.

Sean Clarke scored two for United to take them into the semi-finals to face either Waverley or Gala Hotspur.

Tweeddale Rovers will face Chirnside United in the other semi, after Rovers knocked out Gordon and Jamie Logie scored two for Chirnside in their 4-1 win at Langholm Legion.

In Division B, top two sides Tweedmouth and Langlee both won comfortably, as did third placed Newtown to keep the pressure on.

Scott Hunter returned from a round the world trip to score a last minute equaliser for Earlston Rhymers in their local derby with Lauder, while Hawick Legion ended a horror run of results with a 1-0 win over Kelso Thistle thanks to Callum Hope’s goal.

Chris Brown, Stuart Spence and Aidan Reilly found the net for Division C leaders Ancrum in a 3-0 win over Highfields United, while St Boswells scored six first half goals to hammer Melrose 7-3 at Netherdale.
