STOBO Castle’s continued sponsorship of Ladies Day at Musselburgh Racecourse earlier this month has proved another huge success.

The Stobo brand has become synonymous with Musselburgh’s Ladies Day which attracts more than 10,000 style-conscious racegoers each June and sells out every year.

The crowd this year was entertained by top celebrity DJ Edith Bowman who led the after-racing party and former Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts, who joined the judging panel for the acclaimed fashion shows.

On the turf, veteran French jockey and former Melbourne Cup and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Gerald Mossé romped home on Indian Blessing, the 6/1 winner in the £40,000 feature race The Stobo Castle Gold Cup, making his first visit to Musselburgh a memorable one.

Sarah Montgomery, senior operations and commercial manager at the East Lothian course, said the sell-out raceday was a massive success.

She added: “The atmosphere was brilliant, Edith Bowman and Nicola Roberts were the perfect after-party hosts and we even avoided the showers and the sun shone for us.

"It is a huge undertaking to organise a raceday with 10,000 spectators but the behind the scenes work over many months and the wonderful commitment by our raceday staff pulled it off yet again.”

In the keenly contested Queen of Style event, Linsay McGill of South Queensferry danced off with the top prize of a four night stay in New York with £2000 spending money.

Odi Letshold was announced as the best dressed male and the King of Style winner received £1000 in vouchers from Andrew Brookes Tailoring.

Stobo Castle’s Marketing Director, Jenni Watts, added: “Stobo Castle Ladies Day is without doubt the social event of the year for thousands of fashion conscious race-goers and this year marks our seventh year of sponsoring this fabulous day.

"There is a significant cross-over between the two venues because many Ladies Day regulars are frequent guests at Stobo and both luxury brands work closely together to provide a high-quality and unique visitor experience.

"Looking forward to Ladies Day 2020 already!”
