TWEEDLOVE’S Triple Crown series concluded last weekend with Whyte Bikes King and Queen of the Hill.

For this year the races also doubled up as the fifth round of the British National Enduro Series.

The sell-out event headed to Innerleithen with 31km of race stages on both sides of the Tweed Valley in the Traquair and Caberston forests.

The ruthless weather over the last few weeks meant a slick and greasy course, but this didn’t prove a challenge for Sprocket Cycle’s Jess Stone and Wideopen Magazine’s Christo Gallagher who stormed ahead and were crowned TweedLove’s 2019 King and Queen of the Hill.

Close behind Christo in the male race was Whyte Bike’s Sam Shucksmith and former downhill World Champion Danny Hart.

For the females, Jess had Polly Henderson, current number nine in the Under 21 Enduro World Series, hot on her heels throughout.

And they were closely followed by Roslynn Newman.

Christo not only claimed the crown but also won the overall Triple Crown series with a total of 1,400 points accumulated from the three races - the Vallelujah, the Transcenduro and Whyte Bikes King and Queen of the Hill.

In the female camp it was Jessie-May Morgan who was overall victor after strong performances across the three events.

Their performances now stand them in good stead for securing the National Enduro titles in their respective categories which will be decided at round six in Wales this weekend.

Event director Neil Dalgleish said: "The 2019 Triple Crown Series has been epic.

"We have had some challenging weather conditions at the last two rounds but everyone has still left with a smile on their face, and that’s what it’s all about.

"We are already looking forward to welcoming even more riders from around the world to the valley in 2020."
