TWEEDVALE Walking Football Club sent two teams to the over 60s Algarve Tournament recently.

And after a weekend of football, both teams managed to reach the final of their respective cups.

The Tweedvale Yellows won the Wooden Final and the Reds were beaten on penalties in the Bowl Final.

The club has grown over the last few years and consists of mainly players from Peebles and Innerleithen and is open to players aged 50 and above, although over 40s are welcome to participate if they are looking for some exercise.

The club also has a team in the National League over 65s league which plays once a month at Ravenscraig, in Motherwell.

Men and women are welcome and the club plays in Peebles on Fridays 2.30pm-4pm at the Drill Hall and 6pm-7pm, at the High School on Wednesday nights.

As Walking Football Scotland works in association with Prostrate Cancer Charity, the club will also be having a sponsored 12-hour game in the Drill Hall on November 16 to raise funds for the charity.

It will take place from 9am until 9pm.

The club is also holding a bag pack at Tesco in Peebles tomorrow (Saturday) to raise money for the charity.

Members will be helping out from 10am until 4pm.
