TWEEDDALE Rovers capitalised on two penalty awards and a sending off to thump Greenlaw 5-1 in Division A.

The Peebles side had trailed 1-0 but Conor Devaney’s red card soon after left Greenlaw one man short.

Ten-man Greenlaw only conceded one before half-time but the second half was a different story as Rovers ran in four goals including two spot kicks.

Grant Wilson and Blair Meikle scored two each, while Luke MacLean notched the other as Tweeddale leaped above Greenlaw to fifth in the table.

Hawick Waverley won the big match in Division A against Langlee Amateurs, thanks to a late Jordan Yardley goal to move four points clear at the top of the league.

Both teams were missing a number of regulars, most notably Langlee Amateurs' top scorer Des Sutherland, and a tight match saw Yardley's header win it with just eight minutes remaining.

Chirnside United moved into third with a comfortable 3-0 win over Langholm Legion.

Connor Lough, Declan Lough and Robbie Paulin all found the net for United.

Selkirk Victoria got their Division C promotion push back on track following a hard fought victory at Hawick Legion.

The Vics were thrashed by Earlston Rhymers in their last outing in the league, and looked set to suffer a second successive loss as they trailed Legion 2-1 at half time.

But two goals from Ryan Clapperton, and strikes by Rory Banks and Grant Brownlee saw the Souters win 4-3.

Earlston remain close behind after beating struggling Kelso Amateurs 8-1 at Runciman Park for their sixth win in a row.

Craig Livingstone made it nine goals in his last two games, netting four times against Kelso, while Danny Simpson scored two.

All remaining games were called off due to the sub-zero overnight temperatures.
