A PEEBLES motorsport star is gearing up for the drive of his life later this month.

Robbie Dalgleish completed a remarkable triple-crown last year in his mini.

The 24-year-old won both the Scottish and UK Mini Cooper titles.

And he also beat off competition from drivers across different racing classes to claim the coveted Sunoco 240 Challenge.

As well as three titles to his name, Robbie also qualified to drive in this month's IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season-opener at Daytona in America.

Robbie, who drives out of the JRD Motors Garage in Peebles and is sponsored by local firm Evolution Bottling and Packaging Solutions, visited the Daytona race circuit last week.

During his test drive in the BMW GT4 on the Florida track he reached speeds of over 160 miles-per-hour.

Robbie flies back across the Atlantic next week to compete in the Michelin Pilot four-hour race on Friday, January 24.
