GREENLAW and Langlee Amateurs are the only sides left in the Scottish Amateur Cup after six local teams were knocked out on Saturday.

Despite leading 3-0, Greenlaw needed a late goal to rescue a replay against Kinross.

William Smillie’s late goal ensured a 4-4 draw, and a return game in Perthshire this weekend.

Meanwhile, Langlee Amateurs also drew 4-4 at home to Co’ness Cadora, with goals from Jay Wilson, Patrick Carlin, Des Sutherland and an own goal keeping Langlee in the national competition.

But Scott Nightingale’s double was not enough to keep Gala Hotspur in the cup as they were edged out at St Monan’s 4-3.

Selkirk Victoria looked like they would shock Tranent as Ryan Clapperton and Darren Munro put the Souters into a 2-0 lead, but the East Lothian side fought back strongly to win 6-2.

There were also defeats for Ancrum, Leithen Rovers, Gordon and Linton Hotspur.

Paul Hossack helped fire Hawick Waverley to the top of Division A with an 8-1 thumping of previously unbeaten Jed Legion.

Ex-Gala Fairydean Rovers and Coldstream player Hossack scored a hat-trick in the win at Wilton Lodge Park.

Chirnside United are second on goal difference after beating Newtown 2-0, while Coldstream Amateurs chalked up their first win of the season against Tweeddale Rovers.

Hawick United followed up their Border Cup win at Stow with another narrow victory in Division A against the Villagers, Ross Scott scoring the only goal.

Danny Simpson scored two as Lauder defeated Division B leaders Tweedmouth Amateurs 4-2.

That allowed Lauder’s close rivals Earlston Rhymers to go joint top after a 4-2 victory over Langholm Legion.

A double from Liam Burke and goals from Scott Hunter and Shaun Quinn gave Earlston their fifth win on the trot.

There were also wins for Hawick Legion and Kelso Thistle.

Keiran Crawford scored a treble as Gala Fairydean Rovers went top of Division C with a 5-1 win over Hawick Legion Rovers.

Highfields United and Berwick Colts also won, while Tweeddale Rovers Colts and Kelso Amateurs shared the points.
