HAWICK Waverley’s quest to claim an incredible quintet of trophies is still on after an emphatic South Cup win.

The Teries hammered Bonnyrigg Rose 5-1 at Newtongrange on Friday night, with Jordan Yardley, Davis Hope, Taylor Hope, Dean McColm and Jason Inglis all on the scoresheet.

Having already won Division A and Border Cup, Hawick are also in Waddell and Beveridge cup finals.

Waverley midfielder Grant Gass said: “We have now won three trophies but are aiming to make it five.”

Gala Fairydean Rovers lost their third cup final of the season after losing 1-0 to Kelso Thistle in the Forsyth Cup final.

Alex Gibbs’ goal completes a season of near-misses for Fairydean Rovers, who also narrowly lost out on promotion.

Doubles from Jake Little and Brian Mattinson helped Langholm Legion come back from behind to gain promotion to Division A.

Langholm beat Biggar United 5-4 after trailing 4-3 at half time, to join Gala Hotspur in the top tier of Borders amateur football next season.

And Linton Hotspur completed their last season in the Border Amateur League with a 4-1 win over Tweedmouth Amateurs.
