SCOTLAND head coach Gregor Townsend is coming home - and he's bringing his team with him.

Ahead of the third round match with England at Murrayfield later this month, Townsend will oversee a training session on his old stomping ground at Netherdale in Galashiels.

And he's inviting fans along to watch the preparations.

Gregor, who began his career in the maroon of Gala, said: "The support for the team throughout the country has been fantastic and gives us a real boost going into the 2018 NatWest 6 Nations.

"We always look forward to meeting our supporters and I'm personally excited to be back at Netherdale.

"Having open sessions like these are not only an excellent opportunity for supporters to see first-hand the intensity with which our players train but also reminds the squad of the amazing backing we have from the nation."

The Netherdale training will take place at 1.30pm on Friday, 16.

The session, which will last between 30 and 45 minutes, will be hosted by former Scotland and Glasgow Warriors captain Al Kellock, who will be on hand to talk fans through the team’s session plan and gain some insight from the players and coaches themselves during the session.

There will also be an opportunity for fans to meet some of the Scotland squad after training for autographs and photos.

Entry to the session if free but fans are encouraged to sign up on the Scottish Rugby Union website.
