THE last Serenata Concert of 2015 takes place on Sunday, December 20, at the Eastgate Studio.
In the first part of the programme we will be treated to a sparkling performance of Weber’s 1st Clarinet Concerto played by a very talented young clarinettist from Peebles High School.
It is always an exciting opportunity to hear a gifted young musician at the start of what promises to be an exciting career in music and this concerto offers every opportunity for virtuoso as well as lyrical playing. The second half of the concert will have a strong Christmas flavour as the young players of the Peebles Recorder group play a selection of Christmas tunes before they are joined by members of the Peebles Youth and Community Orchestra and the whole band play seasonal songs with a chance for everyone to sing along.
The concert starts at 2.30 p.m. and entrance is by donation at the door. What better way to start Christmas Week?
