A COMMUNITY group in Peebles is looking for donations after they ran out of bulbs.

Peebles Callants Club recently spent £250 of their funds on buying spring bulbs to brighten up a popular woodland.

On Sunday a small group of Callants planted the 3000 bulbs in the woods to the south of the river side path in Haylodge Park.

But the green-fingered volunteers ran out before they covered the entire area.

And now they face a race against time to complete the project before winter sets in.

John Falla, treasurer of Peebles Callants Club said "Unfortunately we ran out of bulbs before the target area was planted.

"£250 does not go as far as what we had hoped.

"However, if any one felt they would like to be part of the project, a donation can be made and there is still time to plant bulbs this year."

The Callants would like to thank Paul Sewell of PLS Medical for the donation of hats, protective gloves and hi-viz vests.

As well as appealing for bulb donations, the club is also looking for new members.
