Police are attempting to trace a woman involved in a disturbance during the early hours of Saturday.
Officers were called to Peebles at around 1.20am after a witness saw the woman along with two men.
The 999 report suggests the woman was distressed as she left the Deans Wynd area.
And now police are hoping to make sure she wasn't later harmed.
Detective Inspector Paul Batten said: "The member of the public who witnessed the disturbance did the right thing by reporting their concerns to police and we are now eager to trace all members of this group to determine what took place and ensure the wellbeing of all of those involved.
"I would ask that they all contact police immediately.
"In addition, anyone who saw the group, or who has information that can assist with our inquiries should also come forward."
Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
