STARDUST Musical Theatre Company, the new children’s theatre group, performed its debut show at the Eastgate Theatre, Peebles on Saturday to a packed house, writes Andy Wright.

A Night at The Musicals was a ‘tour de force’ through some of the nation’s best loved musical theatre shows over the past 40 years including Footloose, Annie, Cats and Hairspray and the newer musical Grunch.

The entire cast of 45 musical theatre students acted, sang and danced their way through some firm favourites including Memories, Let’s Hear It For The Boy, It’s a Hard Knock Life and Good Morning Baltimore.

Stardust Musical Theatre Company is based in Peebles and was established in 2016.

It holds weekly tutored rehearsals for youngsters age five to 18 years, throughout the year.

Three tutors work with the children on the key musical theatre disciplines of acting, singing, dance, performance and stagecraft.

Founders Fiona Henderson and Andy Wright said: “Musical Theatre continues to grow in popularity and we’re delighted that Stardust has launched with such a successful debut show.

“All the tutors were thrilled that the children rose to the occasion and gave their audience a night to remember.”
