THE candidates standing in the 2017 General Election for the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale County Constituency have been announced.
The following persons stand nominated for election as a Member to serve in the UK Parliament:
- Douglas Beattie, Scottish Labour Party
- John Ferry, Scottish Liberal Democrats
- Máiri McAllan, Scottish National Party (SNP)
- David Gordon Mundell, Scottish Conservative and Unionist
The poll will take place between 7am and 10pm on Thursday, June 8.
Anyone not already registered to vote has until midnight on Monday, May 22 to register to ensure they can vote in the General Election.
Individuals who will be aged 18 or over on June 8 can apply to register to vote in the General Election by completing online registration at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
