THERE are two vacancies up for grabs for Peebles residents to have their say on the town’s community council.
The group meets in the evening of the second Thursday of each month in the Old Burgh Chamber at the Chambers Institution.
As well as being a statutory body which is consulted on all local and central government decisions regarding the town, the community council is also proactive in organising and supporting local projects.
Secretary Anne Snoddy said: “We are entitled to have 18 members, with up to four co-optees with voting rights to make up that number if necessary.
“At present we have 15 members plus one co-optee with voting rights. Therefore there are two vacancies for co-optees with voting rights.”
Peebles Community Council is taking a summer break and will return for their next meeting at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 14 in the Old Burgh Chamber, Chambers Institution.
