Man charged in connection with Walkerburn Bowling Club fire
A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with a suspicious fire at Walkerburn Bowling Club.
Police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Caberston Road club at around 6.50am yesterday following reports the building was alight.
The premises sustained extensive damage and will be closed to the public while repairs are carried out.
The club was flooded two years ago and was re-built earlier this year following a fundraising drive.
A 27-year-old man will appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court today (Wednesday) in connection with the fire.
