RESIDENTS, families and friends enjoyed a wonderful summer fete at Whim Hall Care Centre in West Linton recently.
Initially proposed as an invitation-only event, organisers were surprised and delighted to see the place was "bursting at the seams" with visitors.

The lovely sunny day enabled everyone to remain in the enclosed garden where games were enjoyed by old and young alike.
Many local Peebles businesses donated raffle prizes and friends and families also provided a fabulous selection of delicious home baking to the busy cake sale table, which proved to be a great attraction.

Claire Dunlop, the activities co-ordinator, said: “To all families, friends and the staff and who helped man stalls on the day and kept everyone laughing, I must also say a massive thank you.
“Thank you to Margo from Butterfly Music for a wonderful afternoon's entertainment and to all the Peebles businesses for their generous donations which made the raffle a huge success.

“All your support and donations to our wee event raised a fabulous total of £552.50, all of which will go directly to fund future musical entertainment and activity resources for our residents.
"And we must not forget a chippy tea as an ever-popular and well-deserved treat.
"A giant teddy, that used to belong to my mum, was undoubtedly the most popular guest if the attention he got was anything to go by.
"So, in memory of the selfless and thoughtful person that my mum was, we chose her August 28 birth date for guess the teddy’s birthday.
“To everyone who attended and helped me in making our wee event such a fun and successful day; thank you again.”
