THE winner of a UK-wide drag competition is set to perform in the Borders next month.

Danny Beard rose to fame after becoming a semi-finalist on Britain's Got Talent in 2016, and was later cast on series four of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2022 – which they won, beating fellow contender Cheddar Gorgeous to the crown.

Now one of the UK's highly sought-after drag performers, Danny is now bringing their incredible vocals, stage presence, and iconic look to the Innerleithen stage.

On Saturday, February 17 Danny will be joined by Borders drag star – and fellow singing sensation – Lourde Godd, at the Memorial Hall.

Since winning the drag show – a global sensation with multiple franchises around the world – Danny has made appearances on a number of TV shows including The Weakest Link, Channel 4's Comedy Roast for Stand Up To Cancer, Hollyoaks, Graham Norton's Variety Show, and they also hosted The Aftershave, the official companion show to Drag Race UK.

During their season on Drag Race UK Danny won four 'Ru Peter badges' – the fourth queen on the franchise to do – and reached the show's final without ever 'lip syncing for their life' to avoid elimination.

The show next month has been organised by Phwoar! a talent management agency, which has Drag Race UK  alumni as clients, and has brought big names from the Drag Race universe to the Borders in recent years.

The live show in at the Memorial Hall on February 17 will run between 7-10pm.

Tickets for general admission are £11.67 and those for VIP meet and greet are £37.87 (both prices including tax).
