A HAWICK teenager who admitted driving a car while disqualified has been jailed for more than a year at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Nineteen-year-old Finlay MacGregor, of Renwick Terrace, pleaded guilty to the offence which happened in Abbotsford Road, Galashiels, on August 8 last year.
He also admitted attempting to pervert the course of justice three months later in November by falsely stating to police he had stolen a car, again in Abbotsford Road.
MacGregor was fined on two other complaints but opted for the alternative of imprisonment and was sentenced to a total of 60 weeks which was back-dated to March 4 when he was first remanded in custody.
