REPORTS have been ordered into a woman who carried out an assault on her partner during an online live-streaming session.

Natalie Bain, 30, repeatedly punched the woman on the head in the early morning incident at a house in Cockburnspath.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told the victim asked her to stop before breaking down in tears and leaving the room and locking herself in a bathroom.

A viewer on the streaming session contacted the police.

Bain, of Alexander Street, Cowdenbeath, also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer by scratching him on the arm “drawing blood” when he tried to place her in handcuffs.

The court heard that Bain is currently on a year-long deferred sentence after pleading guilty last October to threatening to kill the woman during another livestream.

Defence lawyer Liam Burke said his client had recently been in hospital after suffering a severe panic attack and added that the court may find background reports useful in the case.

Sheriff Kevin McCarron deferred sentence until May 7 for the production of a criminal justice social work report.

Consideration of the imposition of a non-harassment order was continued until that date.
