AILEEN Campbell SNP MSP for Clydesdale visited Biggar Library on Monday to help launch Book Week Scotland 2014.

Ms Campbell took part in Biggar Library’s 'Lucky Dip-Home Corner’ event on Monday afternoon. The event encourages library visitors to have a cup of tea and select a book from the library’s 'lucky dip’ range.

Book Week Scotland runs this year from Monday November 24 to Sunday November 30. Book Week helps to promote reading and sharing of books among people of all ages and backgrounds.

Aileen said: “It was great fun visiting my local library in Biggar to enjoy the comfort of a good book and a cup of tea!

“The Biggar Library team have done a fantastic job of launching Book Week to promote reading and sharing of books. The Lucky Dip-Home Corner event is creative, fun and gives the library a welcoming atmosphere.

“South Lanarkshire council area is host to over twenty libraries – all of which offer a wide selection of books and events. Head to your local library this week to pick up a free copy of the Book Week 2014 book, 'Scotland’s Stories of Home’.
