A LOCAL restaurant is in the running for a prestigious national award.
The Taj Mahal at Biggar is a finalist for Best Indian Restaurant in Scotland for 2014.
This is the second year in a row the business has made it to the finals for the Scottish Entertainment Guide Awards.
“We are delighted and proud that our restaurant is doing so well,” said managing director Abed Ullah.
“In the last seven years we have been running the restaurant we have been in finals for 11 awards and winning Team Of The Year in 2012.
“This a great achievement for us and reaching this far has not been an easy road. We would like to thank all our customers that have made this possible.
“We are always looking at ways to improve and give the customers what they want and believe that is the key to our success.
“Being one of the smallest indian restaurants that make it this far proves that bigger is not always better but Biggar is miles better!”
