AN advocacy service for the Borders which has been helping people with learning disabilities in Peeblesshire has celebrated its 25th birthday.
And amongst the key speakers at a special event to mark the anniversary was David Tawse from Peebles.
Mr Tawse revealed the history of People First Borders.
He also spoke of one of its early campaign to combat the insulting label, mentally handicapped.
But the get together was also a celebration of the ground-breaking work of the service, which meets in Kelso, Duns, Hawick and Galashiels as well as Peebles.
Members regularly meet to talk about issues and air any worries that come to their attention. They also shape local services by responding to consultations.
Councillor George Turnbull gave an inspirational speech at the event, in front of many past and present members.
People First Borders welcomes new members and volunteers.
